Alright, alright, alright — welcome to my glorious mess of uncategorized projects. Just a big ol’ salad of things I love (and feel proud of), no genres, no labels, just pure vibes.

Let it flow.

“Abrazo de Gol” Lizano Sauce

In 2018, for the Russia World Cup, Lizano—the top sauce and beloved Costa Rican brand—asked me to create the special World Cup edition of their bottle. I like to think I made it into pretty much every home in the country.

Tattoo Flashes

I’m no tattoo artist, but back in 2020 and 2021 I whipped up some tattoo designs and even inked a few people myself.

8

“Hot in the City” DDB San José

In 2009, Ariel and I had a ton of fun designing the murals for DDB San José. We drew inspiration from the local animals and that classic Latin American hustle.

Metalub Branding

We don’t get to work on brands this cool very often. Metalub isn’t just any re-refined oil—it’s all about a more ethical way of doing things. Instead of ending up as smoke or polluting the ocean like most motor oil, they give the oil a second life.
It’s what they call the Circular Economy.

Ballenita Florinda & Sapolio

Three beautiful characters I just can’t stop staring at. Just because.

Fundredimas

Ok, I’ll admit it—I’m a sentimental guy.
In 2013 and 2014, we came up with this totally made-up thing called the Foundation for the Rescue and Dignification of Mascots of Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow. Sure, the foundation was just a joke—but the feeling behind it was real: characters matter, and we should take care of them. They’re part of our lives—and part of our culture too.

Gollo, Character Design

It was 2006 and I was a designer at McCann. Gollo, the biggest retail brand in the country, wanted to give their mascot a makeover. Almost 20 years later, Gollito and I are still bumping into each other—guess we never really said goodbye.

3

Flora & Fauna

In 2021, during my solo exhibition Magdalena Ventura, I jumped into a new challenge: seeing my characters come to life in physical form. That’s when Flora and Fauna came to be—two concrete sculptures made by artist Jonathan Torres.

2

Pacifica Grey Branding

Pacífica Grey has been connecting us with some of the best films in the world—the kind that gets recognized at Cannes, Berlin, or San Sebastián. For over 12 years, they’ve brought us movies like Aftersun, Corsage, Aloys, Force Majeure, The Square, Searching for Sugar Man, Perfect Days, and plenty more.

Todos los problemas del mundo

Todos los problemas del mundo was a dark humor webcomic on Instagram that ran from 2021 to 2023. Over 100 comic strips and 2 chaotic seasons, Iggy, Franco, Mandy, Tina, Patri, Tamara and Yona tackled the world’s irrelevance crisis—clumsily "fixing" forgotten people, companies, and institutions one poorly thought-out idea at a time.
